Avril Lavigne, 37, inaugurated her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Wednesday (31). The singer, who celebrated the achievement on her Instagram, took to the event a photo of her at age 16 with the star in honor of Shania Twain and wore the same sweatshirt as when she first visited the place.

“This is so crazy! I got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today!!! So grateful”, said the artist, thanking her fans and showing her photo from 11 years ago.“I feel so proud today to be on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. OK. When I was 16 I paid a visit to this iconic place and took a photograph, I was still at school. This was my favorite sweatshirt at school and I’m going to get into that vibe,” she said.

With that, Avril becomes the 2,731st artist to receive the honor. The ceremony was broadcast live on the institution’s digital platforms, friends of the artist such as Machine Gun Kelly, Lauren Christy, Ryan Cabrera and Mod Sun were present.
