Filmmaker Martin Scorsese is expected to start recording a film about Jesus in April this year. The director himself confirmed the information in an interview with America Magazine.

As a result, the plot will be set mainly in the present day, although Scorsese does not want to be tied to a certain period because, according to him, he wants the film to seem timeless.
The director also expects the film to last around 80 minutes, focusing on the fundamental teachings of Jesus in a way that explores his principles, but does not proselytize.

Furthermore, according to Scorsese, the script was written in partnership with critic Kent Jones and has already been completed.
Author of the book that inspired the director, Shūsaku Endō was responsible for writing Silence, a work that was also adapted by Scorsese for the big screen in 2016.
