Hojlund ended his goal drought eight minutes from the end of the game. It was his first Premier League goal in his 15th appearance and his sixth in all competitions since his move from Atalanta in August.

The striker celebrated the goal wildly and was even hugged by his teammates. After the game, he said: “I am the happiest man alive right now. You can see from the celebrations as well”.

“As the manager has said before I have scored a few goals in the Champions League but of course it has been a while in the Premier League before scoring. Now I have got it and I hope I can just build on that and keep going”, added Hojlund. With the result, United ended a run of four games without a win in all competitions and climbed to sixth place in the Premier League.
