Broncos safety Kareem Jackson appealed his four-game suspension but was denied.

Jackson got the suspension after Sunday’s (19) game, when he lowered his helmet and hit Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs in the facemask. The blow helped move the ball, which resulted in a forced turnover for the Broncos, who converted the fumble into a field goal.

The safety was neither flagged nor ejected for the flagrant violation of the rules. Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Brooks, who is one of two judges hired and paid jointly by the league and the NFL Players Association, upheld the four-game suspension. Based on a salary of 2.515 million dollars, paid in 18 equal installments, he will lose 558,000 dollars during his suspension.

This was not the first time Jackson appealed a four-game suspension. Back in October, the safety was suspended following his second ejection of the season in a win over the Green Bay Packers, but it was reduced to two games upon appeal.

Jackson will be eligible to return for Week 16 against the Patriots. He will miss games against the Browns, Texans, Chargers and Lions.
