The British driver replaced Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix last Saturday (9), after the Spaniard was diagnosed with appendicitis and had to undergo surgery. Bearman is a member of the Ferrari driver academy.

Berman talked to BBC Sport and said: “It was a proud day for me. For them to say these kind words was really nice – especially the older guys like Fernando and Lewis. I grew up watching them. To share the track with them was an honor”.
The 18-year-old finished seventh at the race. Lewis Hamilton called Bearman “a really bright future star”, while Fernando Alonso said he drove “fantastically well”. Max Verstappen said that he did “an incredible job”.
