Last Tuesday (23), the basketball team announced a pre-call made up of 41 players for the Olympic Games in Paris, France. Among the names stand out NBA stars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

From the total number of pre-calls, coach Steve Kerr, also from the Golden State Warriors, will select 12 athletes to represent the United States in Paris. The 2023/2024 NBA season, in which all pre-call teams compete, will end between June 14th and 23rd. In September 2023, after the United States finished fourth in the FIBA World Cup, LeBron, Curry and other stars expressed interest in participating in the Olympic Games.

The men’s team boasts four consecutive gold medals in recent editions of the Olympic Games: Beijing-2008, London-2012, Rio-2016 and Tokyo-2021.
For the current edition of the Olympic Games, the United States, France, South Sudan, Canada, Japan, Germany, Serbia and Australia have secured their places. Four remaining places will be decided in pre-Olympic tournaments to be held in July.
