Police in Newport Beach, California, have concluded their investigation into rumors surrounding Oklahoma City Thunder star Josh Giddey’s alleged involvement with a minor, the department announced on its Twitter account.

The statement highlighted: “After a thorough and comprehensive review, we have finalized our investigation into information circulating on social media involving Josh Giddey. Our detectives reviewed all available information and were unable to corroborate any criminal activity related to Mr. Giddey.” The investigation began after posts in November suggested that a woman photographed with Giddey was a minor, as reported by ESPN.

The NBA was also conducting a parallel investigation, although commissioner Adam Silver emphasized that the league would take a backseat to law enforcement. ESPN noted that the investigation stemmed from online accusations from a now-deleted account. Giddey, 21, faced boos at nearly every Thunder away game, but the organization allowed him to continue playing during the investigation.
