Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold out for three weeks with knee injury

Date:

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has a knee injury, and will be ruled out for “probably three weeks” according to assistant manager Pep Ljinders.

++Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry says he had depression throughout his playing career

The defender suffered the injury during Sunday’s (7) 2-0 FA Cup third-round win against Arsenal. “Trent hyperextended his knee, so he has a little tear in the lateral ligament of his knee. He had a scan. He will be out for probably three weeks. It’s a big blow. We will really miss him”, said Lijnders.

++Aaron Rodgers hopes to play beyond next season: “I would like this to be more than just this year”

“We will have to find new dynamics without him because he made our game flexible. Even in bad spells, he was the one putting the balls where we needed the difference. He will get some rest and then hopefully he can come back to where he was. Because this guy was decisive in all the games and was the one who created constantly for us from deep”, added the assistant manager.

Alexander-Arnold has scored two goals in 25 games in all competitions for Liverpool this season. Last summer he was appointed club vice-captain. He’s essentially a right-back, but this season he’s also had success in midfield.
