Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman will have new actors in the new DCU films

Date:

The changes already made by James Gunn and Peter Safran in the DC Comics cinematic universe could become even more intense.

++ The sixth season of The Crown already has a release date

According to a report published by Variety this Tuesday (10), Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Gal Gadot will not return to play Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman, respectively.

The roles will be recast for the new DCU, which officially hits theaters with Superman: Legacy, in 2025. Thus, the magazine, however, states that Jason Momoa should not leave DC and that he will now play the intergalactic mercenary Lobo.

++ Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper spotted having dinner together in NY

Therefore, according to the report, the actor’s debut in the role could happen in Superman: Legacy or in a solo film for the character, although nothing has been defined yet.

It is worth remembering that so far, Gunn has only confirmed that John Cena, Freddie Stroma, Viola Davis and Xolo Maridueña will be reused by the new DCU, with the second season of Peacemaker and the Waller series already integrating the new phase of the franchise.

Now, the first DCU film will be Superman: Legacy, which is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. The film is directed and written by Gunn and features David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively.
