“Monotonía”: Shakira hits the top of iTunes in 10 countries

“Monotonía”, the new song by Shakira in partnership with Puerto Rican singer Ozuna is already a hit. Launched last Wednesday (19), the singer reached the top musical on iTunes in ten countries: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Micronesia, Panama and Peru.

Thrilled by the support of the fans, Shakira took to social media to thank them. “To all of you, my thanks! Every time a hole was opened in my heart, it was you who, with all your affection and understanding, helped me to repair it”, wrote the singer on Twitter.

The track arrived accompanied by a music video. Directed by Jaume de la Iguana and Shakira herself, the video shows her literally losing her heart and trying to protect it at all costs. And it became the video in Spanish with the most views in the first 24 hours released in 2022. Shakira sets the stage for her next album of unreleased. 

The hit also went straight into Spotify Global’s Top 15, ranking at number 12, with an incredible 2.9 million plays during its first day.
