Last Monday (22/8), Harry Styles appeared on the new cover of Rolling Stone UK, and hours later the publication became a reason for controversy. Taj Jackson, nephew of singer Michael Jackson, criticized through social networks the title of Styles as “New King of Pop” given by the magazine.

On Twitter, Taj argued against the headline that read: “Harry Styles: How the new King of Pop set the music world aflame.” The title was a reference to Michael, who passed away in 2009, aged 50.

“There is no new King of Pop. You don’t own the title Rolling Stone, and you didn’t earn it, my uncle did. Decades of dedication and sacrifice. The title has been retired. No disrespect to Harry Styles, he’s mega talented. Give him his own unique title”, wrote Taj on social media.
Soon after the publication made by the nephew of the late star, comments emerged and divided opinions. Some agreed with Taj and others came to the defense of the former One Direction singer, claiming new changes in the Pop music scene, and with it new featured artists.
