After a succession of controversial posts, Kanye West got suspended by Instagram last Thursday (17), and now he is banned from performing at the grammy. Instagram’s decision was made over racially oriented posts. He used a racial slur to describe TV presenter Trevor Noah, and after offending him, he got a punishment from the platform. A few days earlier, Trevor had criticized Ye at The Daily Show about all the posts: “What she (Kim) is going through is terrifying to watch”, declared Noah.

West responded by rewriting the lyrics of a song, twisting the words to look like the presenter is a black person who rejects their own ethnicity. Kim and Kanye’s divorce has been complicated. Kim filed for divorce in January 2021, and was declared legally single by a US court this month (March). Ye made some poems about the divorce and the whole process.

After all this chaos on social media, Kanye has been barred from performing at the 2022 Grammy Awards, due to “questionable behavior online”. According to sources close to the rapper, his team received a phone call to inform that he was out of the lineup. He has not publicly responded to what happened. The show has announced Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and others. Besides that, his album Donda is nominated for best album of the year.
